Once upon a time a little boy dreamed of robots, dragons, flying men, and people with computers inside their skulls. He realized that joining the military wouldn't really make him an action hero, and went to university instead. So, for a time he dreamed of multi-headed planaria, zygotes, DNA-Transcriptase, Heat shock proteins and other woderful things. But this biological world was full of strange politics and a powerful oppressive intertia that wasn't really fun.

Computers, as it turned out, were rather fun. Having made one leap, the boy (well, now adult) made his careful way into the world of Computer Supported Cooperative Work under the guidance of Dr Carl Gutwin. While it lacked flying men and dragons, it certainly held no end of robots, and some promise of compters inside peoples heads. And all, it seemed, is well in the world.
